I was reading an article from a daily news letter I receive to stay up to date on current events in our Real Estate world and I noticed an advertisement for a company that was giving information pertaining to the article on foreclosures. So I clicked it and when I arrived at their site I was looking around and there were banners everywhere for a seven day free trial and then a certain amount there after every month. I investigated a little further and decided to look around in the the Fayetteville and Fort Bragg area and see what homes were available for sale and it pulls up numerous areas with no address and a line to click for more information. I click the line it refers me to the 7 day free trial registration, O.K. no problem lets look a little more a tag for let one of their local professionals help, O.K. I’ll bite I click it thinking I will see a list of names and numbers (I really just wanted to be nosy and see what agents were their local contacts), but no all I see is a form to fill out with all me information. Now I’m getting this is one of the companies that calls me and wants to sell me leads. The further I think about it, I answered a call on Monday from someone who was probably a subscriber of theirs who was asking about a home they saw advertised on line that I had sold 8 months ago.

I am not going to pick on them because I am for free enterprise, but I care about my clients and investors who ask me for advice. Please don’t pay one of these places for out dated information. My site allows you to search the MLS for our area, it shows all the listings available - mine, our company’s, and every other company that is a member of our board that enters properties there. It has advanced search features so you can only search VA owned, HUD, BANK OWNED. The information on there will be the most up to date as long as the listing agents keep it updated. You can also call me and I will happily print you a list (It will be the same one) and its FREE . You don’t even have to tell me your name. I also promise you won’t find one sold 8 months ago.
